Edward Lynch Prevails In Special Election Republican Primary, Sets Sights On Victory In April 13th Special General Election
Boca Raton, FL, February 2nd, 2010- Edward Lynch declared victory in the Special Republican Primary Election in Florida’s 19th Congressional District this evening, as he offered congratulations to both of his opponents on a close and hard fought primary race. “Now is the time for unity as a Party as we advance our agenda, our principles, and our ideas that we believe are essential for restoring individual liberty and fiscal responsibility back to our federal government,” said Edward Lynch, Republican candidate for Congress in Florida’s 19th Congressional District.
The forthcoming Special Election to be held on April 13th for the vacated Congressional seat is not about the candidates so much as it is about two very different governing philosophies as to what the proper role of the federal government should be. The elections held throughout the country in 2009 and 2010 have in effect been a referendum on the federal government’s proposed takeover of the health insurance system, and Americans have resoundingly told our elected officials in Washington D.C. that they do not want any further federal government encroachment into healthcare.
“The voters of Congressional District 19 will have a clear choice in the Special Election- a choice between a committed taxpayer’s advocate who believes in limited government, cutting wasteful congressional perks, and enacting real healthcare reform that respects patient’s rights; and the Democratic establishment’s candidate- a candidate who falls squarely in line with the Obama agenda, still supporting a government takeover of the health insurance industry, and seemingly clueless about under what circumstances job creation will actually take place in the private sector in South Florida. We shall see just how supportive the voters of District 19 are of reckless, big-government policies that restrict patient choice, harm small businesses, and stifle job creation,”
“Limited government has made America the freest and most prosperous nation in all of human history, but there are far too many in our political class who are insisting that we must abandon that philosophy and our Constitution. I will never abandon the principles and ideas that have made America great, and I will make our case without apology to the voters of Congressional District 19,” said Lynch.
